This site is my preferable site. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. when I I need a superb lunch, this place comes immediately to my head. fresh and food and a large list of dishes.helpful staff, and agreeable ambience. Also, the charge is affordable. I praise this restaurant with pleasure.

I was told 15 min on a to go order. In 5 min it was ready. Service has always been fast. Food is real good. Great flavor.

Food Margarita and Service Was Excellent

Been here a bunch and it's easily one of the best, if not the best Mexican in the area.A pretty standard Mexican restaurant setup. Large menu with a ton of options, very quick and attentive service. They have really good queso! Good cocktails as well. Prices are normal for a causal sit down Mexican place.They are very popular, so it's normal busy and sometimes a wait. If you have a large group you may want to call ahead.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in my area. I have never had a bad, or even poor experience at El Mariachi. The whole staff, from FoH to BoH are great, very polite and always attentive. The food is always made correctly and piping hot as it comes out. These guys rule, you should always give them a stop if you're in the area.

Meal was very good as per usual. The salsa has been very bland last couple trips there.

This is a great, wonderful Mexican restaurant. They do a crisp business at lunch for a reason. They have very reasonable prices. If I eat there for lunch, I get so stuffed that I only need a small dinner. Staff is reasonably friendly, and they are very efficient.

So far my favorite Mexican place in town. Trying to find a place that's better and I still think this is the best.

I wouldn't recommend. We came in with high hopes. Ordered the guacamole we did end up trading for the chori cheese dip as the guacamole was not fresh (they must have some premade or bought). The queso with chorizo was also premade and very sweet. The chori polo is not to bad just again the cheese is to sweet. Their chorizo is amazing and so is the rice, beans not so much. My husband ordered quesadillas with cheese on it with he enjoyed. Over all we won't come back, but a LARGE reason is the service. Not attentive and ended up going to the front for all my needs.Honestly, the more I think about it everything had a pre cooked flavor.

My family and I have been coming here for years to this Mexican restaurant because of the food and service. The Mexican food is great here (for Iowa standards), and the chips and salsa are excellent. The food comes out very quickly. It can get quite busy during dinner time but they are efficient. Plus, you can order takeout.

A friend recommended this when I was in town for work and craving Mexican. It hit the spot. Food was excellent and menu had plenty of options. Great decor and amazingly fast time from ordering to getting our food.

I've been eating here for years, and this is the one of the best Tex-Mex restaurants in the area. They have outstanding, fast service. They have the best margaritas. The food is really good and reasonably priced. If the rare event something isn't perfect, they make it right.Be sure to visit on your birthday for a treat.

Had high hopes, gal and I went in today, small, poorly presented deluxe burrito was just a bunch of Leftover fajita fry. Service was decent, margaritas OK, clean, probably not going back. All the best!

The guy behind the cash register is often rude and no one is excited to seat you when you arrive. But they give you a little cold container of salsa and separate bowls so you don't have to share. Most restaurants don't do that and I really appreciate when they do. Salsa is consistent and good. Everything comes out pretty fast except shrimp cocktail which is good but takes a little more time to make which is good because you can tell it's fresh. The shrimp is warm and tomato sauce isn't too cold. Not the most flavorful or the best service, but consistent. Ask for spicy and they'll add jalapenos to your fajitas.

Im giving this a 1 star only because i can't give them a 0 star rating. Our waiter had terrible customer service. I had to chase him down to get to go boxes, my ticket, to pay my bill and he never filled my water glass. I sat with a empty water glass for over a half hour. Then he cared more about speaking Spanish with 4 other Latinos then waiting on his tables. He shouldn't be in the restaurant business. The only silver lining is The steak fajita quesadilla was good

Eat here regularly. Have had good experiences. Food is great. Service is good. Salsa is tasty. Margaritas are strong. They have not got my order wrong yet. I really like the Guadalajara special. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for good Mexican food.

The place was very busy, but they managed to seat us right away. We had an excellent server that continued to check on us though out our stay. The chips (fresh and very warm) and salsa were delightful. The food was delicious and for as many people in the restaurant , we were amazed at how fast we were served. I had been there before, but it was a first for my two companions. They were impressed with everything about the place. Nice decor, excellent service, great food and even though a little noisy, we had no trouble carrying a conversation. I think by the time we left they had both decided what they're going to order next time! Prices were also pretty reasonable! I would say there's no way anyone is going to leave this place hungry!

Best Mexican food in Des Moines area for more than ten years. Consistently great service, great food, and great prices. Every time we try a new place we come back to El Mariachi because it's better.
